ProFathering15™

In-home Parent Skill-Based Does Not Currently Meet Criteria

ProFathering15™ is an online parenting program designed for fathers or father figures. ProFathering15 aims to support the growth of caring and compassionate fathers by helping dads improve their knowledge, behaviors, and skills. ProFathering15 content is related to five characteristics of a great dad: self-awareness, caring for self, fathering skills such as being a positive father figure and role model, parenting skills such as nurturing your children, and relationship skills.

ProFathering15 covers 15 fathering topics including: (1) family history, (2) what it means to be a man and a dad, (3) showing and handling feelings, (4) how to cope with grief and loss, (5) men’s health, (6) co-parenting, (7) communication, (8) resolving parental conflict, (9) fathering skills, (10) child development milestones and supporting children’s growth, (11) non-violent discipline, (12) sexuality and self-worth, (13) fostering close relationships, (14) balancing work and family, and (15) managing money.  Each topic includes user-friendly text, videos, and exercises that can be completed in 15 minutes.

ProFathering15 implementation can occur in multiple ways. Participants can complete the program in a self-paced format where fathers complete the topics on their own online. Organizations can also offer ProFathering15 through one-on-one or group formats. In a one-on-one format, a mentor discusses critical points with the father as the father works through the online content. In a group format, multiple participants complete the online program at once. A mentor leads group discussions about critical points throughout the program.
